'Attack on Titan' season 2 rumors: Upcoming anime to merge manga's 'Clash of Titans' and 'Uprising' story arcs

"Attack on Titan" season 2 is expected to arrive less than a month from now. However, even before the highly anticipated anime hits the small screen, it is already believed that the latest installment of the anime series will feature the combination of two story arcs from its manga origin: "The Clash of Titans" and "Uprising" story arcs.
According to the latest reports, it is likely for "Attack on Titan" season 2 to immediately pick up from the events where its season 1 ended. To recall, the season 1 finale episode of the anime series featured the discovery that a titan is actually buried inside the walls. This discovery, reportedly, will result in drastic events as the Survey Corps will venture outside the walled city, only to discover that that there is a bigger danger waiting outside: Beast Titan.
Avid fans of the manga version of "Attack on Titan" know too well that Beast Titan is a force to reckon with. After all, the said titan has a high level of intelligence that enables him to communicate with and command other titans. As the Survey Corps confront Beast Titan, it will eventually result in the clash among the titans, known as the "Clash of the Titans" in the manga series, which is also hinted in the trailer for the upcoming season of the anime series.
While it is likely for the "Clash of Titans" story arc to make up the first half of "Attack on Titan" season 2, it is suspected that its second half will be based on the events in the "Uprising" story arc. While this story arc may pale in comparison to the "Clash of Titans" arc in terms of action, it is said that "Uprising" will be thick on plot and revelations. It is also suspected to introduce some of the latest important characters in the anime series, including Kenny Ackerman.
"We will be exploring characters who didn't have key roles in the first season. Of course, we're doing our best to not create those scenes with solely exposition — we want to incorporate dialogue seamlessly into the overall theme of the story," said "Attack on Titan" director Koizuka Masashi in an earlier interview with NewType magazine as he teased about what fans can expect from the upcoming season of the anime series.
"Attack on Titan" season 2 arrives on April 1.
