Recent reports state that The CW has renewed its DC Comics-based "Arrow," meaning fans can look forward to an upcoming Season 3 which's release date is fall 2014. Arrow Season 3 will be a sequel to Season 2 which ended with the finale, "Unthinkable."

Arrow Season 1 introduced us to Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, with his quest for justice in the Starling city. It premiered with a stranded Queen on the fictional North China sea, hellish island, called Lian Yu.

Queen survived a shipwreck which cost the lives of all the people on board, including his millionaire father. Being on an island for five years shaped Queen into a scarred, hardened killer.

Season 2 had Manu Bennett's character Slade Wilson, who is liable for making Queen's life difficult. Disguised as Deathstroke, he killed Moira Queen, the matriarch of the Queen family, which brought Oliver untold grief.

The upcoming Season 3 will likely expand Dark Arrow's role as Queen's arch-nemesis. Queen will return to Starling City to right his family's wrongdoings, and go after justice. He creates an arrow persona while keeping it a secret, even from his family, including his sister Thea who befriended his enemy.

Queen associates himself with John Diggle, an ex-military guy; Felicity Smoak, a computer expert; Sara Lance, an assassin and Roy Harper, street brawler. As the story advances, loyalties and rivalries shift while Queen faces challenges.

Playing Thea, Lance, Harper, Smoak and Diggle are: Willa Holland, Caity Lotz, Colton Haynes, Emily Bett Rickards and David Ramsey respectively.

John Barrowman, who debuted as Malcom Merlyn, in Season 1 Episode 4, becomes a series regular on the "Arrow." According to Den of Geek, his character will possibly become an antagonist.

Arrow will air Wednesdays, 8pm at CW starting this fall.
