'Archer' season 7 release date: air date set for March 31; set in Hollywood

Fans will just have to endure one more month until the premiere of the seventh season of the animated comedy series "Archer."
Last year, according to The Hollywood Reporter, FX renewed the series for a sixth and seventh season, with 13 new episodes each. The sixth season ran from Jan. 8 to April 2 last year. The seventh season is slated to premiere on March 31 this year.
In season 7, expect to see the whole gang in Hollywood running a high-class detective agency. A lot of details about the upcoming season were revealed in an exclusive interview with series creator Adam Reed by The Daily Beast.
The reason why the next installment will be set in LA is because Reed wanted to have a clean break from the past seasons of the series.
He said, "They're in L.A. and they've started a detective agency.... Cyril is the owner of the detective agency because in California, to be a licensed private eye you need to have 2,000 hours of detective work or a criminal justice or law degree, so they all have to work under Cyril's shingle, and Cyril gets to flex his authority a little bit—much to Archer's and everybody else's chagrin."
Reed also revealed that the inspiration behind the L.A. setting is the L.A.-based film noirs and 70s-80s detective TV shows like "Moonlighting," "Simon & Simon," Magnum," "P.I." and "The Rockford Files."
He further added that the gang, as part of their aim to get into the circle of the Hollywood elite, will handle cases for movie stars, directors and producers.
He also revealed that the celebrities who will voice their parts include "Key & Peele" star Keegan-Michael Key, Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons and "Agents of SHIELD" star Patton Oswalt. "Mr. Robot" star Christian Slater will return as the CIA agent that works with the gang. Joining him are Jon Daly, Jon Glaser, John O'Hurley and Dave Willis.
