'Ant-Man' movie update: Marvel to debut six-minute sneak peek before 'Jurassic World' IMAX screening

(Marvel Studios/Disney)"Ant-Man" releases on July 17, 2015.

"Ant-Man" may seem like a tiny superhero compared to the mighty "Thor" or the mechanical "Iron Man", but all that is set to change on July 17. Movie-goers and superhero aficionados may harbor low expectations from this Marvel movie, but then ants have always been underestimated.

Marvel has announced that it will air a 6-minute preview of its upcoming movie, "Ant-Man" on select IMAX screens in the US and other international destinations on Friday, June 12. Just before "Jurassic World" airs across cinemas, movie-goers will see an extended trailer of the upcoming Marvel movie. This will certainly be a treat for Marvel and comic book fans.

Marvel-Disney has also released a TV spot trailer of "Ant-Man" that has been airing across major networks in the US. "Ant-Man" is actually one of the founder members of the Avengers and a pivotal superhero in the grand scheme of the Avengers team.

Cinema Blend reports that "Ant-Man" will also appear in the future "Avengers: Infinity War" part one and two. So never underestimate anyone who is small! "Ant-Man" is the only remaining Marvel movie that will be released this year.

"Ant-Man" follows the story of con-man Scott Lang, played by actor Paul Rudd, who wishes to turn over a new leaf. The father to a beautiful daughter is offered a chance for redemption when mentor Hank Pym, played by actor Michael Douglas, visits him in prison.

IGN reports that Pym wants Scott to don the "Ant-Man" suit and protect the secrets of his superpowers from towering threats. The suit enables the wearer to shrink in size and increase in strength. Armed with colossal strength, Pym and Lang together pull off an impossible heist. Yellowjacket is the antagonist of the movie.

"Ant-Man" ushers in the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and releases in theatres on July 17, 2015.
