'American Horror Story season 5: Hotel' news and spoilers - Matt Bomer comes on board as Jessica Lange says goodbye

Lady Gaga announced that she is the lead star of season five of "American Horror Story" and unveiled the new theme – hotel – on Twitter. However, fans were raring to know if the franchise's superstar, Oscar winner Jessica Lange, would be back amidst rumors of her departure. At the recent PaleyFest held in Los Angeles last week, it was confirmed that Jessica Lange will be checking out while "White Collar" star Matt Bomer checked in at the hotel, according to TVLine.
Handsome man Matt Bomer has guest starred in the FX anthology series "Freakshow", where he appeared as a gorgeous gay hustler who falls victim to billionaire Dandy (Finn Wittrock). TVLine reports that "30 rock" star Cheyenne Jackson will also join the star-studded cast. So far, only Lady Gaga, Matt Bommer and Cheyenne Jackson are confirmed cast members, there are no official announcements regarding series regulars such as Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Michael Chiklis, Finn Wittrock or Denis O'Hare, although many have expressed their desire to return.
While Bomer and Gaga's entry into the horror franchise has softened the blow regarding Lange's exit for many "AHS" fans, many will sorely miss the actress. Lange has portrayed each character with grace and chilling accuracy, be it the matriarch nun of an asylum, an aspiring singer in a freak show or a supreme witch within a coven.
Little else is known about the hit franchise, except that creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that the upcoming series will take place in present day. US Magazine reports that "Hotel" will be shot in Los Angeles, where "Murder House" and "Asylum" were filmed. Previous installments "Freakshow" and "Coven" were filmed in New Orleans. Speculations suggest that the Cecil Hotel's story will be incorporated, although Murphy has yet to reveal which of the many US hotels the show will take after.
"American Horror Story: Hotel" is slated to begin production this summer and will air its 13 episodes in October.
