'American Horror Story: Hotel' news: Lily Rabe says Aileen Wuornos character will be altered slightly to fit show

"American Horror Story: Hotel" is scheduled to premiere in just a few weeks. Unsurprisingly, details about the upcoming premiere have since surfaced. While most of the reports that were released earlier this year remain speculative, some information about the casting and plot of the fifth season of the franchise have been revealed by the cast and crew themselves.
Late in July, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that "AHS" alum, Lily Rabe, has signed on yet again to the production of the brand new Ryan Murphy anthology. According to the report, Rabe would be playing a famous serial killer eventually revealed to be infamous Aileen Wuornos. In the context of the show, Wuornos stayed in the titular hotel during the height of her killing spree.
Rabe gushed about her role in the show, further explaining how a real-life killer would be integrated to the very kitsch world of "American Horror Story." In an interview with Shine On Media, the actress revealed that Wuornos, depicted in the spirit of the show, would be wholly different than all other adaptations of the criminal's life.
She said, "'American Horror Story' is such a specific world so it really is Aileen Wuornos in that world. [But] I think [it] is inevitably going to be different than her in any other context, because there really is no world out there like that of 'American Horror Story,' so bringing the two together has been the most exciting challenge to find the right balance of everything."
More recently, the production of the upcoming series have released a new promo, which gave fans a glimpse of what an A-lister's role would be come "Hotel." Earlier this year, Lady Gaga has confirmed that she would be appearing in the fifth installment of the FX series and would be playing "The Countess," the owner of the prominent hotel. The promo showed Gaga dancing around as The Countess showcasing what is expected to be a very disturbing side of her character.
"American Horror Story: Hotel" is scheduled to debut on Oct. 7, 2015.
