AMD RX 480 release date, specs: Impressive, affordable graphics card coming June 29

The AMD Radeon RX 480 is almost here and tech enthusiasts are eager to get their hands on it. But what exactly is known about the upcoming graphics card?
According to WCCFTech, the AMD Radeon RX 480 will have a Polaris 10 XT graphic processing unit. It will come in two versions: the 4 GB variant and the 8 GB variant. Its boost clock speed will come at 1266 MHz (with its base speed at 1080 MHz) and it will have a VRAM speed of 8 Gbps. The same publication has also managed to get photos of the upcoming graphics card. The XFX model, unlike the reference model, will come in at 1288 MHz.
Appearance-wise, the reference model will sport an Aluminum fin array heatsink and measures over 9 inches long. The card's design allows it to expel heat out of the card's back and its cooling system will feature a blower-like design. Other features include an HDMI port and three DisplayPorts. DVI-D ports will be included in some variants, while others will lack its presence.
As for pricing, the two variants will understandably sport different price tags, with the 4 GB version coming at $199. This is, of course, just the starting price. On the other hand, the 8 GB version starts at around $249, resulting in a $50 price difference. Meanwhile, other custom versions may cost a little more, with prices quoted at $299.
The same publication notes that the AMD RX 480 is a serious contender in the market. It certainly offers consumers value for their money and is even compared to the current offerings in the industry. In comparison, the AMD RX 480 fares pretty well against its rivals, especially considering the affordable price tag attached to it.
The AMD Radeon RX 480 is expected to hit the market on June 29, which means fans only have a little over a week left of waiting time.
