AMD Radeon RX 490 release date news: Product could be making an appearance at New Horizon event
The world of technology is ever-evolving, thus the demand for faster processors, central processing units (CPUs) and motherboards are on the rise. This is a call that Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is prepared to take heed of, and it looks like they are ready to release another breakthrough card.
There are various reports stating that AMD's unreleased Radeon RX 490 could be making an appearance at its New Horizon event slated by Dec. 13. It is expected that the new graphic card could be operating in what they are calling "dual graphics chip," something that takes advantage of the company's cutting-edge Vega architecture.
Some even believe that the Radeon RX 490 has already been spotted in the past. According to Guru 3D, the card has been spotted in the "Ashes of the Singularity" database under the code 687F:C1. They believe that the identification is close to that of "Polaris," another of AMD's. Nevertheless, they suspected it was indeed the Radeon RX 490 because they found out that whatever it was, it was much faster compared to the RX 480.
Either way, the results look promising, thus speculations around AMD Radeon RX 490 arise. It is believed that it could possibly support 4K resolution, something that is going to be essential for virtual reality games. Moreover, it could have a bus width of more than 256 bits. The price could even be close to that of the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080.
This being said, it could mean that the Radeon RX 490 could be a viable competitor against the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080. It could mean a lot of things, but ultimately it means more choices when it comes to tackling the part of technology it supports.
If anything, this has got fans speculating and hoping for the best once it comes out. Eager spectators will have to look forward to the New Horizon event scheduled on Dec. 13 for more information, and hopefully an official announcement from AMD.
