'The 100' season 3 news: Fans unhappy about focus on Grounders; next season incorporates ghost story
The new season of "The 100" will allegedly air in early 2016. However, it seems that fans are not happy with the way the show is slowly being taken over by the Grounders, especially after what showrunner Jason Rothenberg tweeted.
"The 100's" producer was recently asked by a fan on Twitter whether the Grounders' main city, Polis, will be revealed in the upcoming season. Rothenberg gave a positive answer and said the city will change the way viewers look at the Grounders.
Yes, and it will change the way you think about the Grounders. Too spoilery? #The100 @ohrealIybitch @netflix

Fans were introduced to the Grounders way back in season 1 as they menaced the young survivors from the Ark. They quickly became a key component in season 2 as the two factions – the Grounders and the Sky People – became allies in their mutual quest to destroy the Mountain Men. Of course, this alliance quickly dissolved as the Grounders betrayed the Sky People during the season 2 finale.
Despite his vague reply about Polis and the Grounders, numerous fans still didn't like the idea of more focus being given to the Grounders than the Sky people. One fan even pointed out that the show is called "The 100" for a reason. Rothenberg replied that "they're all Grounders now, though."
Both sides have a point. With a previous post showing Clarke looking like a Grounder and the spoilers that all seem to be about the group, it's no wonder that some fans are frustrated with the apparent focused on them. But the "Body Politic" producer also has a point as everyone, at this point in time, can be considered a Grounder as they are all living on Earth.
But not all spoilers about season 3 revolve around the Grounders; it's been reported by TV Line that the new season will be featuring a time jump. There are also hints that a Bellamy-Clarke love story might also be in the works. And according to Rothenberg, season 3 of "The 100" will also have a ghost story. The showrunner revealed that the story references an incident that happened in a Brazilian space station.
Fans don't have to worry about "The 100" season 3 being taken over by Grounders, as there are other story arcs that will also be included. The popular series is expected to be back on air in January 2016.
