Hit video game "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has received positive reviews from hardcore gamers, but beginners and amateurs are still finding it hard to explore the game as it has no extensive tutorial. Here are the basics that players need to know.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is the newest game in the "Zelda" franchise. It is playable on both the Wii U and the Nintendo Switch. The title is different from all other games in the series as it features an open-world format with hidden things to discover. In fact, it is being compared to the likes of other successful games with the same format like "Far Cry," "Witcher 3," "Skyrim," and "Monster Hunter."

According to Eurogamer, players will find themselves exploring the game as they try to raid camps and scavenge for some ingredients. However, to minimize the confusion, it is good to remember that the starting point is the Great Plateau, where players can see Link's main objectives. There is an option to bypass this stage, especially when a player is already a veteran.

Since "Breath of the Wild" has a different take on telling Link's story, the usual Heart Containers and dungeons with locked doors and hidden keys will no longer be available. Instead, players will have to visit certain locations and successfully beat a number of shrines, which will be introduced in the early stages of the game. New Spirit Orbs will be given to players when they completed a shrine. They can use these orbs for upgrading abilities and other items.

Shacknews wrote that the challenges in the shrine vary in difficulty. There are types that only require combat against a specific enemy, but there are complicated ones, like those where players would need to use the gyroscopes of the Wii U or the Nintendo Switch to navigate a 3-dimensional puzzle.

The Ne'ez Yohma shrine, in particular, can be beaten if players will be able to solve a puzzle to get the item inside. This particular shrine can be found in Zora's Domain.
