The upcoming Marvel TV seires on Nextflix, "The Defenders," will be a complex mix of superheroes made up of Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Danny Rand also known as Iron Fist (Finn Jones), Matt Murdock also known as Daredevil (Charlie Cox), the Punisher (Jon Bernthal), Elektra (Elodie Yung), and Luke Cage (Mike Colter). Marvel fans can expect bits of conflict here and there among characters, especially between Jessica and the Daredevil.

As Jessica is not the type who would crave for popularity or public attention, the public's familiarity of her in the upcoming series makes her very uncomfortable to say the least.

"She's still dealing with the aftermath of Kilgrave, and now she's dealing with 'success' — and not well," Ritter told Entertainment Weekly. "People want her to work for them, she's getting a lot of business, and she's not ready for any of that. She hasn't changed, but her environment has, and there's no handbook for how to exist in a world where you are now popular."

In the same article, showrunner Marco Ramirez describes Jones, saying, "She's gloriously the most reluctant hero in the world. She's going to have to let three men into her life who she doesn't 100 percent trust."

Ritter went on to describe what "The Defenders" will offer fans. "When I read the first two scripts, I was like, 'Wow, this is going to be big,' because it's so fun seeing these huge characters, and not just the four of us, but all of us in one show. This just has a big scope. It's a much bigger world, because all of our characters have a very specific way in, a specific beat."

On top of trying to get along with each other, The Defenders will also be contending against an even greater enemy known as Alexandria to be played by "Alien" star Sigourney Weaver, according to sources. Alexandria will be portrayed as a sophisticated, intelligent yet highly dangerous force from New York City. It is said that Alexandria will be the female version of "Daredevil's" Alexander Bont. She could also possibly be Bont's daughter.

Other members of the cast include Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Misty Knight (Simone Missick), and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).

"The Defenders" is expected to premiere this summer on Netflix.
