Many of the speculated Microsoft gadgets did not show up during the recently held September event. Hopes are high, however, that the upcoming Microsoft October event will already unveil the gadgets that have been making the rounds for many months now.

ZDNet gathered reports that Microsoft is holding another launch in late October where a Surface brand is set to take center stage. The product is reportedly being called "Cardinal," which could be what is being rumored as the Surface All-In-One device running on Windows 10.

The publication also claims that the event has a code name "Project Rio" and will possibly take place on Oct. 26 in New York.

However, reports have also claimed that Surface Pro 5 would have to wait for 2017 to be released. The reason for the delay points at the development of the seventh-gen Intel processor that Microsoft reportedly wants to use on the device.

Mobipicker cites a source from China who is reportedly to have been accurate in the past in leaking details. Surface Pro 5 is said to run on Intel's Kaby Lake processor that has improved performance despite requiring less power source. This means gadgets using such processors will have a longer battery life.

Surface Pro 5 is also reported to boast of a 16 GB RAM, which will enable the device to multitask more effectively. Many of the new and upcoming devices are reported to have 4K resolution, but the source said Surface Pro 5 will come with an option to use 4K or not to cater to a larger market.

Other specs reported are the use of NVIDIA Pascal or AMD Polaris GPU, the inclusion of USB Type-C and Surface Pen, and the installation of better cameras.

All these remain rumors and speculations until announced by Microsoft itself. In the meantime, it is best to wait for the event to know details about Surface Pro 5.
