The benchmark reports for Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 835 System on Chip (SoC) prove that the new processor for most of the upcoming flagship smartphones in the market will perform better than its predecessor.

According to the manufacturer's description, the Snapdragon 835 is "35% smaller and uses 25% less power than previous designs, and is engineered to deliver exceptionally long battery life, lifelike VR and AR experiences, cutting-edge camera capabilities and Gigabit Class download speeds."

Based on a compilation of benchmark reports, Geekbench 4 benchmark results, the Snapdragon 835 can perform better than its competitors like SoCs used by Apple A10, LG 821, Google Pixel XL, One Plus 3T, Huawei P10, and Samsung Exynos 8890 when measuring the raw power of the smartphones' CPU.

On the other hand, the AnTuTu benchmark tests evaluated all the aspects of upcoming devices, including the smartphones' RAM capacity and processor. In the overall result, Snapdragon 835 once again dominated the top spot with just a very small margin against Apple's own SoC product.

The score of Snapdragon 835 on the AnTuTu benchmark was further enchanced with its GPU companion called the Adreno 540, which reportedly performs 25 percent better compared to its earlier version.

Meanwhile, those who want to know how the Snapdragon 835-powered devices will rate when used in mobile gaming should take note of the GFXBench results. While Qualcomm did not promote its latest SoC as a major component in mobile gaming, it still ended up on top of the list of processors alongside iPhone 7's SoC.

The benchmark results also prove that the latest Snapdragon product comes with a significant improvement from its predecessors, the Snapdragon 820 and Snapdragon 821.

At the moment, several mobile phone manufacturers are rumored to equip their upcoming products with the Snapdragon 835 SoC, including the HTC 11, the LG V30, the next OnePlus flagship phone, the rumored Samsung Galaxy S8, as well as the Google Pixel 2. On the other hand, Sony already confirmed that the Xperia XZ Premium will have the latest Qualcomm processor upon release.
