The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be a significant upgrade from the Note 5 (pictured) as it is rumored to have 6 GB of RAM and an iris scanner.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 6 will make a very big statement when it launches later this year. According to the latest reports, the phablet from the South Korean tech giant is set to become the first mobile device to launch with 6 GB of RAM.

Samsung recently introduced its latest technologies at the 2016 Samsung Mobile Solutions held in Shenzhen, China. The South Korean tech giant introduced the new 6 GB mobile RAM built using a 10 nm process. While Samsung has not confirmed it, it seems likely that the 6 GB RAM will be integrated into the Galaxy Note 6.

The 10 mn process utilized by the new LPDDR4 mobile RAM chip allows the phablet to be more efficient and consume less energy. As such, the rumored 4,200 mAh battery will gain enough juice to power the phablet for 48 hours. Another rumored feature — the iris scanner — also seems more likely, given the 6 GB of RAM.

Numerous reports have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will come with a 5.8-inch "Slim RGB AMOLED" display with a Quad HD screen resolution. It may also be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor. Since the Galaxy Note 5 was criticized for not having a microSD card slot, the feature will likely make its way back to the upcoming successor. It will provide additional storage for models rumored to sport 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB memory configurations. Furthermore, the Galaxy Note 6 will also reportedly come with a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port.

At this time, the rumored specs and features have not been confirmed by Samsung. Thus, readers should consider these reports as mainly speculative.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to launch this August. More details will be revealed after Samsung's official announcement.
