Nokia Lumia 630 to release in India on May 12: Microsoft sends invites for New Delhi event

Microsoft sent media invites to a New Delhi event scheduled for May 12, which tech industry pundits speculate as the launch of Nokia Lumia 630. The invitation is taken care of by a Nokia agency, with the logo of Microsoft, as the new host.

Nokia Lumia 630 and 930 were announced in Microsoft's Build Conference early April, before the finalization of the Microsoft-Nokia deal, as the first devices for Windows Phone 8.1 of Nokia. Nokia India recently the Lumia 630 and 930on its website. Though there are hearsays that the May 12 New Delhi event is for low price point Lumia 630 launch, there is no mention of the high-end Lumia 930.

The launch event may showcase the product to be launched, with the availability date to be announced later. Sometimes, companies showcase the product but do not announce its availability and price at the launch event, which happend with the Nokia XL.

The case for Lumia 630 may be different as retailers in India have confirmed the device will be available from May 12. The Lumia 630 price in India is not given yet, but Microsoft announced it before as about $210 (€150) outright, or around Rs 12,500. This is similar to what has been found in online stores in China as well as in Amazon.

Lumia 630 is the first Lumia dual-SIM phone that runs Windows Phone 8.1. Its features including low-power SensorCore motion sensor, Bing Health and Fitness apps, MS office, Nokia MixRadio streaming, HERE maps and Nokia camera.
