Fans of the "NBA 2K" game series will be happy to know that the latest installment, "NBA 2K17," is rumored to drop in September this year. And although there have been many speculated dates, Sept. 27 is the one most reports are sticking to. The Legend Edition of the said game is already available for pre-order on Amazon. The retail site lists the game for a release on Dec. 30; however, this is merely a placeholder date. According to the site, the price for the Limited Edition is $79.99.

It was previously announced that Kobe Bryant had the distinguished honor of serving as the cover star for the "NBA 2K17" Legend Edition. The legendary Lakers player retired from basketball this year, playing his last game against the Utah Jazz and scoring a whopping 60 points. He was also responsible for the game-winning shot with a little over 30 seconds left on the clock.

For those who pre-order the Legend Edition, they will be treated to extras and goodies (both digital and physical) that will revolve around the 37-year-old retired basketball player. Physical items include a limited edition poster of Bryant, two Kobe Panini playing cards and a Black Mamba game controller skin. Digital content include 30,000 of virtual currency, a MyTEAM Bundle, Nike Kobe 11 retirement shoes, Kobe #8 Mitchell and Ness Jersey and a Kobe hoodie.

As for who will be featured on the cover of the standard edition of "NBA 2K17," VG247 reports that the star's identity will be announced during the "NBA 2K16 Road to the Finals" championship event that will take place in June. Long-time fans of the game are undoubtedly excited about the latest version of the "NBA 2K" series.

The regular edition of "NBA 2K17" will be available on the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, while the Limited Edition will only be playable on the latest gen consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
