When asked when Minecraft for Xbox One will finally hit the shelves, a representative from 4J Studios curtly replied that the popular game is being "worked on."

That might not be what Mine Masters want to hear but it does expand the popular game's universe that currently includes the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. What these aficionados will be happy to know is that 4J, a Scottish video game development studio, is working on delivering their favorite game to more than one additional console.

4J tweeted this in response to a Tweet: "The main thing we're working on is Minecraft Editions for Xbox One, PS4 and PS Vita, and Patch 1.06 for PS3 :) "

Minecraft's publisher, Mojang AB from Sweden, then published an online photo showing the popular game can be played on Xbox One, PS 4 and PS Vita. Rumors are that the version to be played on these game consoles will have better texture and larger world sizes than previous version.

Minecraft for the Xbox One will be unique. As with the other versions, this one has a person construct buildings and other structures out of huge cubes in a world that seems very similar to the world that people live in. A person can craft, explore and fight in the game.

By the way, 4J will determine the release date for Minecraft for Xbox One and not Microsoft. You'll have to talk to 4J if you want to uncover more info about the new Minecraft version.

Phil Spencer, an executive of Microsoft, maker of the Xbox, said that progress on the Xbox One version of Minecraft is really good. He said there will be differences between the Minecraft version for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

"But unlike on 360 where they (4J) had never been on console before and the developer relationship, I'll say, was very tight from the beginning, this is something that's really in their hands now. They're a full-fledged developer in every sense," said Spencer.

4J was awarded a Golden Joystick Award for the Best Downloadable Game and a TIGA Games Industry Award for the Best Arcade Game for their XBLA or XBox Live Arcade version of Minecraft.

Minecraft is a sandbox indie game originally created by Swedish programmer, Markus "Notch" Persson, and later developed and published by Mojang. It was publicly released for the PC on May 17, 2009.
