Latest rumors involving the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 suggest that the new tablet will arrive in April. Microsoft, however, remains tight-lipped regarding the potential release of the new device.

The Surface Pro 4 was launched in October 2015, and consumers were anticipating a possible upgraded version to come out exactly a year after. Unfortunately, what arrived were the Surface Book i7 and Surface Studio only. It is highly likely that the much-anticipated improved version will come out this 2017.

With the foreseen arrival of the Windows 10 Creators Update in spring this year, it is believed that Microsoft is holding the release of the Surface Pro 5 until the new operating system is available.

Reports suggest that the starting price for the Surface Pro 5 will be $899 or £749 for consumers based in the United Kingdom. It is also safe to assume that prices may increase after it is introduced in the market. A few months back, Microsoft dropped the price of the Surface Pro 4 to £609 from £749, the promo ending on Jan. 31 this year.

Meanwhile, PC Advisor reported that recently leaked information regarding the Surface Pro 5 suggests that it will feature a 4K display and a stylus that has the ability to charge remotely. The intercepted leak also alleges that the new device will be launched in the first quarter of 2017.

In January last year, Patently Mobile published that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office publicized a patent application from Microsoft involving a rechargeable Surface Pen and dock. Microsoft described the stylus further by saying that it will be more functional when it used a rechargeable battery. Inside the stylus is a charging circuit that will provide the current in order for it to recharge. Currently, the Surface Pen is powered by a triple A battery or a button cell battery.

It is believed that Microsoft will reveal important details regarding the Surface Pro 5 in the coming weeks.
