(Rumored LG G3)

Recently, the sequel of LG G2, the LG G3 has been confirmed to be revealed on May 27 in London, New York and San Francisco, according to the invites LG sent to the media for the event. On the next day, May 28, the device will be unveiled in Istanbul, Singapore and Seoul.

The current LG smartphone LG G2 which was released on August 2013 got positive reviews, positioning itself at the top of PC Advisor's chart for best smartphones. LG G2 earned the recognition as the judges' favorite in the annual 2014 If Designs Award last March in Seoul, South Korea, for its innovation and design that spell convenience-oriented features.

To succeed such a great smartphone, there are many high expectations for LG G3 this year. PC advisor said LG's next flagship is worth the wait, for those who did not buy the recent flagships in the Android line from top OEMs like Sony Xperia Z2, Samsung Galaxy S5 (GS5) and HTC One M8.

Specs

LG G3 will be the first smartphone to sport a Quad HD or QHD screen. As the term suggests, it is four times more in pixel count than HD, also known as 720 pixels. LG told PC Advisor they will release a QHD device this year. LG confirmed to Engadget LG G2's successor will come with a QHD display. Screen will be 5.5 inches, with AH-IPS LCD panel, 2560 x 1440 pixels or 534 ppi. Processor could be in-house Odin or Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 in Adreno 330 GPU which will put it in the levels of GS5, One M8 and Xperia Z2.

Camera, Fingerprint Scanner and Price

Rumors said the LG G3 will have the same camera as LG G2, enhanced with optical image stabilization and 16MP shooter. It will likely have 4k video recording as well. Fingerprint scanner is said to be offered too, to fare with its contemporaries iPhone 5s and GS5.

The price is not known yet, but with its advanced features, it will most likely be higher than G2's which is now currently at £399 (about $672).
