Actors Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, who co-starred in the film "Fantastic Four," are officially engaged to be married. The announcement came after the 33-year-old actress was seen in New York City flashing her engagement ring.

The couple first met while shooting the "Fantastic Four" movie and have been dating since the fall of 2015. PEOPLE confirmed their relationship after they were seen publicly showing their sweetness while strolling in New York City and Malibu beach in California.

The newly-engaged couple have attended various celebrity events together, like the 2016 Met Gala, the H&M Womenswear Fall/Winter 2016/2017 show at Paris Fashion Week in France, and the premiere of Mara's newest film, "Man Down," in November.

The actress has four movie projects scheduled in 2017, including John Curran's drama "Chappaquiddick." The film tells about the 1969 car accident that adversely affected then-U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy's personal life and political career.

Bell, meanwhile, has just finished shooting the movie "Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool," in which he co-starred with award-winning actress Annette Bening. The film is an adaptation of Peter Turner's bestselling book that focuses on his relationship with actress Gloria Grahame before his death.

Bell shot to stardom for the 2000 film "Billy Elliot," in which he played a young boy aspiring to be a professional ballet dancer. He received the BAFTA award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal. The actor also appeared in "King Kong," "The Adventures of Tintin," and "Jumper." Mara's film credits, on the other hand, include "Brokeback Mountain," "Shooter," and "The Martian."

Bell was married to "Westworld" actress Evan Rachel Wood, but the two went their separate ways after only 19 months. They have a 3-year-old son. Meanwhile, it will be Mara's first time to tie the knot.
