'iZombie' season 3 spoilers, release date: Major eats a brain of a teenage girl; turns into one

When The CW's zombie crime fiction series "iZombie" returns for season 3, Major (Robert Buckley) will start to exhibit the characteristics of the people whose brains he has eaten.

(Facebook/cwizombie)"iZombie" season 3 premieres on April 4 on The CW.

As seen in the teaser of the upcoming season, Buckley shared, "One brain that we're exploring right now is that of a teenage girl." The clip shows a distinct change in the character. Major appears irritated when Liv (Rose McIver) asks him where is headed off to. He responds with a clearly annoyed tone, one which arguably is associated with adolescence. "I have mercenary training. God!," he says.

Meanwhile, in a scene with Ravi (Rahul Kohli), Major gives the medical examiner unsolicited advice on his concerns with Peyton (Aly Michalka) and Blaine (David Anders). While rolling his eyes, Major utters, "She doesn't deserve FaceTime with you. She slept with Blaine, which first of all, ew and second of all I can't even."

According to the actor, this particular storyline was drafted specially for him. As revealed in a synopsis of episode 2 of the upcoming season, Liv and Major will consume the brains of a father and daughter duo. And Major ends up eating the teenage girl's brain. This also explains why Liv gets so protective of him, asking him where he is going.

Elsewhere in season 3, viewers should expect to see David Anders bust into a musical solo. The actor is expected to showcase a musical number in each of the first three episodes of the forthcoming season.

As previously reported, one song will pay respect to musician Rob Thomas, while the other two will be about his job. The cast have been gunning for a special musical episode, but, so far, chances of it happening look slim.

"iZombie" season 3 premieres on Tuesday, April 4, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
