Although Apple has yet to confirm any detail on its alleged iMac 2017, it is said that the latest Apple desktop is making its way to the store shelves next month.

In the age where people are consumed by their tablets and smartphones, some can't help but wonder if Apple is still planning to release the latest version of its highly esteemed desktop, the iMac. However, according to the latest reports, it is likely for the Cupertino-based company to release its iMac 2017, next month.

In the event that Apple is, indeed, releasing the iMac 2017 next month, it should not really come as a surprise as, after all, it was learned that Apple CEO Tim Cook has said last year that the current generation of the iMac is the best desktop that the company has ever produced, much more that it boasts of a 5K Retina display, which is considered to be the best in the world.

Cook further said in his message on the company's employee board that, while there are those who doubt whether Apple is still committed to making desktops, the company has a great line of desktops in its pipeline, a clear message that Apple is not planning to abandon the desktop market soon.

Meanwhile, rumors claim that the iMac 2017 is, indeed, the best desktop ever from Apple as, allegedly, it will not only boast of a 5K Retina display but will be powered by the latest Intel processor, the Kaby Lake. It is also alleged that its chipset will operate at 4.2 GHz and can also overclock up to 4.8 GHz, and will offer support to Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1, and the DisplayPort 1.

It has also been reported that the 27 and the 21.5-inch models are now offered at discounted rates. While discounts are not supposed to be always equated to the arrival of the latest version of the device, does the sale on the iMac suggest that the arrival of the iMac 2017 is really imminent?

iMac fans can only hope so.
