iMac 2017 release date, specs rumors: New desktop products coming out in June?

(Apple)Upcoming iMac model to release in June, reports say

The highly anticipated update for the 2015-released iMac is expected to be released this year, if rumors turn out to be true.

New reports claim that Apple will launch the latest iMac during the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WDC) 2017 that is scheduled to be held in San Jose, California from June 5 to June 9.

Apple desktop users have been waiting for a long time for the Cupertino-based tech giant to update their desktop lines. Some even believed that the product line had been neglected after its recent update. But during an internal Q&A session with Apple CEO Tim Cook back in December 2016, Cook reiterated that the iMacs are still an important part of the company.

"The current generation iMac is the best desktop we have ever made and its beautiful Retina 5K display is the best desktop display in the world," the CEO stated. "Some folks in the media have raised the question about whether we're committed to desktops. If there's any doubt about that with our teams, let me be very clear: we have great desktops in our roadmap. Nobody should worry about that."

While the tech firm continues to be silent about its plans for the iMac 2017, several speculations claim that the next line of Apple desktops will feature the AMD Ryzen chipsets. On the other hand, there are also reports claiming that the Kaby Lake i7-7700 model could find its way to the iMac 2017. However, there are no reports yet that can verify that the rumored processors will be featured in the device.

Other rumored features of the iMac 2017 include the 5K Retina display, the OLED Touch Bar, the Touch ID, the AMD Polaris 10 graphic card, the USB Type-C Thunderbolts 3 ports, as well as a slimmer and lighter design compared to the previous models.

More details about the iMac 2017 are expected to be released in the coming days.
