Sony Interactive Entertainment recently launched its latest action role-playing video game, "Horizon Zero Dawn," last week. The title, which was developed by Guerrilla Games, came out first place in the UK, surpassing even Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."

Reports say that Sony's "Horizon Zero Dawn" is currently the studio's biggest franchise. Its debut was even more successful than the latest installment in its hit action-adventure series "Uncharted," which launched last year. Eurogamer believes that it is highly likely for the studio to create succeeding titles for the game.

"Horizon Zero Dawn" made its debut on Feb. 28, Tuesday, on PlayStation 4 consoles. Perhaps one of the factors for its success is that its competition, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," made its debut on a newly launched console, the Nintendo Switch. Unlike the PS4, it has yet to sell over 50 million units worldwide. Despite the relatively new console, the title managed to nab the second spot.

According to reports, "Horizon Zero Dawn" is set in a highly detailed and spectacular gaming world, with a variety of landscapes and biomes waiting to be explored. In the game, players get to portray a young woman named Aloy, a member of a primitive tribe that survived when civilization broke down.

There are a lot of activities in "Horizon Zero Dawn," and the basics will be covered within the first hour of gameplay. A tutorial will teach gamers how to sneak, climb, scan androids and defeat them. Within the first hour, players will familiarize the controls and the gameplay itself.

Like the hour-long tutorial, gamers will often find themselves doing menial and laborious tasks such as hunting boars to collect more arrows, or harvesting wires just to get more electric traps.

But when it comes to combat, the game does not disappoint. Players have the opportunity to carry a variety of weapons and use them at their disposal.

"Horizon Zero Dawn" is now available to download on PlayStation 4 consoles.
