Galaxy Note 8 rumors: Upcoming Samsung device to be the first smartphone to have an expandable screen display

Despite the controversy Samsung got into because of the exploding battery of the Note 7, it is said that the company is poised to redeem its tarnished reputation via its upcoming Note 8. After all, if the latest rumors are to be believed, the Note 8 will be the first-ever smartphone that can transform itself into a tablet — thanks to its expandable screen.

There is no denying that the controversy caused by the Samsung Note 7 has taken a toll not only on the reputation of the South Korean tech giant but also on its sales. However, according to the latest reports, Samsung is moving forward from the said nightmare as it is bent on making a rebound by making the Note 7's successor, the Galaxy Note 8, a device to watch out for.

While there are many rumors attached to what the upcoming Samsung device may possibly offer, the latest rumors claim that the Galaxy Note 8 will come with an expandable screen. This means that, apart from being a smartphone, the device can be used as a tablet, too. Reportedly, Samsung will be the first to benefit from the development of the foldable screen technology as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has approved its patent license for the Note 8 to be a foldable smartphone.

However, it is said that the company is not rushing the release of the device. Instead of releasing it supposedly in the middle of this year, just like what earlier reports claim, the device will now be released, allegedly, in September.

If the Note 8 is, indeed, getting released in September, then, it seems that earlier rumors saying that the device will be pitted against the iPhone 8 are true as, after all, the upcoming Apple device is also expected to be launched at the same month later this year.

Both devices were also alleged earlier to come out this August.

Will the Galaxy Note 8 really have a foldable and expandable screen? Is it really meant to take on the iPhone 8?

Those outside Samsung can only speculate for now.
