'FIFA 17' Patch 1.08 news: Latest update fixes goalie ball pickup errors, adds new FIFA Ultimate Team features

"FIFA 17" patch 1.08 is out now for PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One. Electronic Arts said that this patch will be able to address some issues that were found in the latest "FIFA 17" game. A few updates will be for the FIFA Ultimate Team feature where players get to join mini games and events to boost their leaderboard standings. Still the patch aims to fix the issue wherein the goalie picks the ball after a pass back from a teammate.

The latest "FIFA 17" patch 1.08 is a 1.09 GB download, according to PlayStationLifestyle.net. The patch will address FIFA Ultimate Team issues and features such as an added ability to choose the number of times a player joins a weekly knockout tournament in the FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) Champions. The number will be seen on the main tournament title.

The update will also include an ability to limit items for FUT Championships games and will also be found on the events information screen. Additional games were added to the FUT Champions leaderboard plus new squad restriction options such as player type.

When it comes to aesthetics, the "FIFA 17" patch 1.08 has updated Chapecoense's team crest, updated 2D player photos and have fixed issues that pertain to the incorrect display of overall player rating. PSU also reported gameplay issues addressed by the latest patch, specifically the issue wherein the goalie picks up the ball after a teammate makes a pass back; it has also disabled the penalty kick indicator and the FIFA trainer in the FUT Championship games.

"FIFA 17" patch 1.08 has also improved the latency bar graphic in all online modes. "FIFA 17" was initially introduced in September 2016 and was available on PS4, PC and on Xbox One. The game was initially based on a story line called "The Journey" which was about the life of an aspiring football player named Alex Hunter as he continues to reach his goal to be able to play at the Premier League games.

Meanwhile, "FIFA 18" will launch this year and it will be about "The Journey" season 2. The upcoming title is a single-player game with entirely new characters and storylines. Also expected in "FIFA 18" are new experiences and games in the FIFA Ultimate Team and deeply engaging and connected FIFA series. The "FIFA 17" patch 1.08 is currently available; PS4 and Xbox One users are encouraged to receive this significant update.
