'Deadpool 2' release date, update: Kyle Chandler to play Cable? Mackenzie Davis denies involvement

(Facebook/DeadpoolMovie)"Deadpool 2" will premiere in 2018.

"Deadpool" was a record-breaking hit when it was released, which was shocking news since the film was given an R rating. With "Deadpool 2" currently underway, fans expect nothing less from the sequel.

The hero himself confirmed at the post-credits scene of the first film that Cable would be making an appearance in "Deadpool 2." This stirred up a frenzy of excitement among fans. But since casting is key when it comes to characters, fans have been wondering who will be cast to play the role.

It was previously reported that Stephen Lang, Dolph Lundgren, and Ron Perlman have all expressed interest in bringing Cable to life. However, Lang did note that his schedule with "Avatar 2" may conflict with the filming of "Deadpool 2," so it may not work out in the end. He did say, though, that he would be great in the role.

Now, heads are turning toward Kyle Chandler as rumors have started to circulate that he may be playing Cable. However, this has not been confirmed in any way by any party, so fans should be cautious. The creator of Cable, Rob Liefeld, also told Nerdy Pop that he is unaware of who will be cast as the character. Liefeld also happens to be the creator of Domino, who is also rumored to be making an appearance in the sequel.

As for the actress speculated to be playing Domino, all eyes are on Mackenzie Davis. However, in an interview with GQ, Davis revealed no knowledge of being cast to play the part.

"I'd love to keep the ruse going. It's sort of cool that people think I'm doing 'Deadpool.' But no! I don't have any news to share," Davis explained.

Apart from Cable and Domino, it is also believed that Hugh Jackman may be making a cameo appearance as his iconic character, Wolverine, in the upcoming sequel. However, since Marvel has yet to confirm casting rumors, fans should take this news with a grain of salt.

"Deadpool 2" will hit theaters sometime in 2018.
