"Battlefield 5" is still a big mystery at this point, but apparent leaks that have come out in the past few months may be hinting at what EA has planned for the upcoming first person shooter.

The most recent rumors surrounding the game suggest that a World War I era setting may be in the cards for the next installment.

Back in February, Twitter user Liam Robertson spotted a listing for the upcoming game on the web site of Swiss retailer World of Games.

According to the listing, the next installment of the "Battlefield" franchise would be a shooting game set in World War 1.

To this point, EA has yet to announce an official setting for the next game, so the tidbit about World War 1 was treated as important news by fans who have been following developments about the upcoming title.

The listing has since been changed to take out the bit of information about World War I, so it's unclear if the initial entry simply included an error or if it actually revealed more than it was supposed to.

Interestingly enough, the bit of information about World War I which was included in the listing was actually not the first one that may have hinted at a potential setting for the upcoming game.

Back in December, a listing for something known as "Battlefield 5: Armageddon" surfaced on IMDb.

The listing also featured a short description about a "small town soldier who is in battle for Japan."

Unfortunately, the listing has since been taken down, but Gamezone was able to capture a screenshot of it back when the entry was still accessible.

For what it's worth, Japan was involved in World War I, so the next installment of the "Battlefield" franchise could very well feature that particular period of time in history as its main setting, though with EA yet to say anything official, nothing is certain as of now.

EA has also yet to announce when "Battlefield 5" may be coming out, though the listing for the game posted by World of Games included an October 26 release date.
