Subaru has announced that the Subaru XV Concept will make its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Apart from an image teaser, Subaru has not released any details regarding the concept crossover. Reports have suggested that the upcoming Subaru XV Concept will preview the next-generation XV crossover.

The Subaru XV Concept will be unveiled during a press briefing on March 1, 2016 at 11:15 a.m. (Central European Time) at Subaru's booth in Geneva.

Alongside the Subaru XV Concept announcement, Subaru has also released the 2016 Subaru XV in the U.K. The compact crossover has been refreshed for the new model year and comes with exterior and interior upgrades.

The Subaru XV crossover has been given a more modern and rugged exterior design. The front fascia has been upgraded. It now features "hawk-eye" headlights, a new front grille and bumper. At the rear, there is a new boot spoiler and LED lamps. Completing the crossover's new look are the black and silver aluminum alloy wheels.

The refreshed Subaru XV crossover comes with upgraded interiors and a more modern look. The cabin uses high-quality materials and features a new Metallic and Piano Black trim with contrast stitching. The 2016 Subaru XV also features the newly-developed 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a smartphone-style interface, navigation, rear-view camera and climate control. The infotainment system is also compatible with the Apple iPhone's Siri Eyes-Free technology.

The 2016 Subaru XV is powered by either a 2.0-liter petrol engine or a 2.0-liter diesel engine, both of which have been update to come with improved fuel economy.

The 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine is mated with a six-speed manual transmission. It delivers 147 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The engine achieves 52.3 mpg for combined driving. It can also go from 0 to 62 mph in 9.3 seconds.

On the other hand, the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 150 horsepower and 144 lb-ft. of torque. When the engine is mated with the six-speed Lineartronic automatic transmission, it achieves 43.5 mpg for combined driving.

The 2016 Subaru XV goes on sale on March 1 across the U.K. Prices start at £21,995, which is about $31,800. No word yet on U.S. availability.
