'The Incredibles 2' rumors: Dash, not Jack-Jack, will be the villain
After it was speculated earlier that the youngest member of the Parr family, Jack-Jack, would be the main villain in the upcoming Disney/Pixar movie sequel, the latest in the rumor mill says it will not be the case. Nonetheless, this doesn't mean that the villain in "The Incredibles 2" will be outside the Parr household as it is said to be no other than Dash.
According to the latest reports, the villain for "The Incredibles 2" has already been hinted toward the end of the first movie. Reportedly, one of the participants in a Reddit forum has pointed out that, in the first "The Incredibles" movie, Bob and Helen Parr always reminded Dash to control his super speed power. The Redditor, who hides by the name "Professor Wonder," also insinuated that Dash will grow up doing the exact opposite of what his parents ask him to do as it is normal for teenagers to contradict what they are told.
It is also said that such a theory is not a far cry, much more that Dash got some positive reinforcement from Mr. Incredible himself as shown in a particular scene in the first "The Incredibles," wherein Dash pranked his teacher but was not caught on camera. Instead of reprimanding his son, Mr. Incredible even praised him. This is said to be a contributing factor for Dash doing what is not acceptable, hence, it is likely for him to be the villain in "The Incredibles 2."
To recall, prior to the theory pointing to Dash as the possible villain in "The Incredibles 2," rumors claiming that his younger brother, Jack-Jack, would be the villain in the movie sequel were widespread. As "The Incredibles 2" will be featuring a 15-year time jump, it was claimed that Jack-Jack would grow up to be a rebellious teenager, not knowing how to handle his powers.
As "The Incredibles" writer/director Bard Bird has said in an interview that the sequel will focus more on the relationships of the characters, it was alleged that Violet and Dash would rescue their youngest sibling from being totally consumed by the dark force.
At this point in time, though, no one outside the production of "The Incredibles 2" can really say as to who the main villain will be. Whether it is Dash or Jack-Jack, or someone else, everything can only be confirmed when the movie arrives in June next year.
