'Dragon Ball Super' episode 71 & 72 recap, plot spoilers: Son Goku returns with a vengeance
Fans of the "Dragon Ball" anime know for a fact that Son Goku always gets himself into perilous situations, where he would most of the time almost die but eventually rise against all odds. This is proven in yet another preview for episode 72 of "Dragon Ball Super."
Episode 71 was something worth remembering, as fans see Goku unable to land a decent damage on Hit. Without even moving a bit from where he stands, Hit is able to throw Goku off balance by calculating his movements. Goku truly appeared to be in trouble.
Despite this and seeing Goku technically die after a fatal blow, causing his heart to stop, there is a glimpse of him being revived, much to Hit's surprise. New development regarding the plot for the upcoming episode is discovered, creating speculations along the way.
According to Japanese manga magazine V-Jump, the summary for episode 72 reads, "Hit goes all-out to battle Goku again! Goku dies after his heart takes a direct strike from the assassin Hit's invisible shock wave. But he manages to return to life after receiving a shock from a ki blast he fired immediately before dying. Now Goku's counterattack begins!"
It continues with, "Who hired Hit?! Vados was the one who hired Hit to kill Goku. But it seems she was merely acting as a representative for Hit's true client. Who could that be?! Goku has seen through Hit's technique! What strategy will he use to counter it?!"
The promo teaser for the upcoming episode may be dropping hints as to who really hired Hit. Beerus could be seen grinning in the background, which may be because he was glad that Son Goku is doing his best to become stronger, and wants him to prepare for an even bigger tournament.
Nonetheless, a huge comeback can be expected from Goku in the following episode. As per Comic Book, there is a big chance that Son Goku may have already deciphered through Hit's techniques and may have an idea how to deliver an effective counterattack, as the title implies.
"Dragon Ball Super" episode 72, dubbed "Will There Be a Counterattack?! The Invisible Killing Strike!!," is expected to air in Japan on Fuji TV on Dec. 25 at 10 p.m. ET.
